An ominous Ministry of Defense (MoD) report circulating in the Kremlin today has included in its order for the massive air defense exercise at the Erebuni military airbase in Armenia a warning to top commanders telling them to “prepare for war” and noting that it appears President Obama is no longer in charge of either his own, or North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) troops who currently continue to mass by the tens-of-thousands on the Western Front.

The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) has been engaging in clashes with militants of Al Nusra, Ahrar Al-Sham and the Turkmen Islamic Party in the northern part of Latakia province. The main clashes are ongoing for areas in Jabal Al-Akrad where militants had launched to advance on the positions of pro-government forces earlier this week.

The ISIS terrorist group has successfully counter-attacked in the province of Raqqa, re-taking from the Assad forces the Thawrah oil field, the Sfaiyeh oil field, the Sfaiyeh crossroads and Bir Anbaj. The main government forces withdrew in the direction of Ithriya while clashes were observed in Madarkhah and Khirbat Zaydan. Before this setback, the pro-government forces had been deployed in about 13 km from the strategic Tabaqa military airport.

Russia is starting to lose patience over Washington’s reluctance to determine the concrete targets of the fight against terrorists, the head of the Russian General Staff said Monday.
MOSCOW, June 20 (Sputnik) – Earlier this week, US media cited an anonymous official who claimed planes of the Russian Aerospace Forces had hit the positions of US-backed Syrian opposition forces. Russian and US defense officials held a rare video conference overnight to address the issue.
