Ukraine and Poland have created a number of obstacles for the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline and opposed Gazprom’s extended access to the Opal pipeline. Kiev and Warsaw fears that alternative routes for Russian gas to Europe will decrease their role as transit countries. However, European partners wants to broaden energy cooperation with Russia.
