(Julian Rose) We had better recognize, today rather than tomorrow, that deception, lies and hypocrisy are now endemic in the great majority of political institutions of this planet. They are so institutionally ingrained within the established patterns of behavior on display in Westminster, Washington and Warsaw – not to mention Brussels, Berlin and Barcelona – that one can hardly fail to reach the conclusion that the ability to lie convincingly has become the key factor in determining personal advancement within the party-political pyramid.
