Former President Barack Obama, during his presidency, has often criticized the rich citizens in America. However, what is ironic here is the fact that Obama actually belongs to these citizens. These past few months, the Obamas spent a huge amount of money. First, they stayed in a 22 bedroom mansion in Italy. After that they stayed at Marlon Brando’s French Polynesian hideaway and to top it all, they went with billionaire Sir Richard Branson on his yacht.

However, what they purchased in DC for $8.1 million will make you livid.
Forbes reported that Barack and Michelle Obama have purchased a home (read mansion) in Washington DC for $8.1 million. The mansion has 9 bedrooms and 8.5 bathrooms. The previous owner of the mansion was Joe Lockhart. You might have heard of him… Joe was the press secretary under Bill Clinton’s administration and is currently the executive vice president of communications for the NFL.
The 8,200-square-foot home also has light hardwood floors and neutral gray walls. It includes a reading room, state-of-the-art kitchen, elaborate doorways, crown moldings and coffered ceilings.

Funny thing is, Barack and Michelle Obama are now neighbors with Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump. Talk about irony.

It is assumed that the Obamas will pay for this house from their book deals and tours and speeches around the country. After all, it is estimated that Barack charges around $200.000 per speech. Moreover, he also has the Presidential six-figure pension. This will surely guarantee a luxurious life for a long time.
