Government forces on the front-line in Raqqa successfully forced back the self-proclaimed Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) in the course of heavy gunfire on Thursday. Raqqa forces used rockets and assault rifles, resulting in the death of one ISIS member and many others leaving their positions.
