In Charlottesville, Virginia, a controversial monument of a Confederate general has been covered in a black shroud. It was carried out as part of the mourning for a woman killed in the recent mayhem that erupted over that particular statue.
The violence broke out almost two weeks ago, when a rally in support of the monument faced a counter-protest. Since then, a war on a Confederate heritage has been proclaimed in different parts of the country, with several monuments already demolished.
