‘Extremists’ arrested over foiled arson plot in Moscow

Footage showing police arresting members of a banned extremist group that allegedly planned to attack police and set fire to government buildings was released on Tuesday.

Members of the radical movement Artpodgotovka were detained by Moscow police on November 3.

Police discovered weapons and homemade explosive devices during the raids which resulted in 302 people being detained for public order offenses and participating in an unauthorized rally.

The leader of group Vyacheslav Maltsev called on his supporters to participate in an unsanctioned rally on November 5th.

The group was categorised as a right-wing extremist organization and banned by a court on October 26.
