Double Standards: US Navy sex-for-secrets scandal seen as fraud, whistleblowing as treason

‘Colossal bribery and fraud’ has engulfed the US Navy, according to prosecutors in the so-called ‘Fat Leonard’ case, who have now revealed the true extent of the scandal.

Four hundred and forty personnel have been indicted, including over 60 admirals and hundreds of officers.

All of them are accused of sharing secret information in return for bribes such as alcohol and women something that’s being treated as fraud, not espionage. However, the identities have been kept back to avoid jeopardizing the investigation. Caleb Maupin reports.
