Police arrested 22 ultra-Orthodox demonstrators in Jerusalem on Sunday for disrupting traffic during a protest against the jailing of 11 students who refused military-draft orders.
Police used a water cannon and removed protesters who were blocking the main roads into the city.
The protest came after Jaffa Military Court sentenced 11 students to 90 days in prison for refusing to comply with draft orders.
Military service in Israel is compulsory for all men and women over 18 years, but when the country was created in 1948, its first PM allowed 400 ultra-Orthodox Jews to avoid compulsory service to study the Torah.
