Moon Mission: ‘Sirius 2017’ project may soon allow regular citizens to visit space

An experiment simulating a 17-day mission to the Moon has just finished in Russia. Six participants spent their time isolated and confined to a mock-spacecraft for the duration.

The project is named SIRIUS and has been supported and partly funded by NASA.
In 2018, the project will see participants spend about 4 months in simulated space. In 2019, that will increase to 8 months.
The last stage is planned to start in 2020 and last for about a year.
It could pave the way for anyone who wants to do so to travel into space in the not-too-distant future.
