At least 10km2 have been contaminated as the Sanchi oil tanker, carrying 136,000 tons of condensate from Iran, exploded and sank on Sunday around noon, nine days after a collision with a bulk freighter east of the Yangtze River estuary off Shanghai on Jan 6.
