World famous Persian rug designs have been given a contemporary makeover for this summer’s FIFA World Cup in Russia. The stunning carpets feature woven images of Moscow side by side with historic sites in Iran, as seen in footage filmed in Tehran on Sunday. The carpets feature different designs, since they will be sent to a number of locations around the world, and be gifted to organisations including Astan Qods Razavi Museum in Mashhad, the Russian Football Union, and the Football Federation of Iran as well as to teams Iran will be facing at the tournament this summer.
