Protests in Islamabad after Christian woman acquitted in blasphemy case

Dozens of roadblocks were placed across Islamabad on Wednesday, after Pakistan’s Supreme Court overturned a death sentence for a Christian woman accused of blasphemy, sparking outrage. Asia Noreen, better known as Asia Bibi, was sentenced to death by hanging in 2010 for allegedly making derogatory remarks about the Prophet Muhammad during a dispute with coworkers. The dispute arose after she was reprimanded for drinking water from her neighbors’ glass because she’s not a Muslim, reports say.
