Scores of Iraqi activists held a demonstration in front of Basra’s provincial council building on Tuesday, according to local reports. The demonstrators protested against the deterioration of living conditions in the country and demanded better job opportunities. They reportedly tried to storm the government building, but were then dispersed by Iraqi security forces.
