A drive-by shooting in the West Bank settlement of Givat Asaf allegedly left two Israelis dead and two more critically wounded on Thursday.
According to Israeli sources, the victims were Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) soldiers who were on patrol near a bus stop along the highway close to the Palestinian town of Silwad and the Israeli settlement of Ofra.
An IDF soldier and a civilian were also seriously wounded. The assailants reportedly abandoned their vehicle nearby and fled on foot.
The attack was allegedly carried out in retribution for the three Palestinians killed on Wednesday and early on Thursday in Ramallah, Nablus and Jerusalem.
