At least 40 ancient mummies have been discovered in burial chambers in Minya Governorate.
The mummies of men, women and at least 12 children were found lying in a nine-metre-deep tomb, according to Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities Dr. Mostafa Waziry. Some mummies were buried in caskets, others were seen lying separately.
