Residents who were arrested read out a statement written by police: “I am a resident of Qianchuan Street. I did not obey the rules regarding coronavirus control from our district government and from the Qianchuan Street Police Station. I went out despite the rules, and was disciplined by police at the Qianchuan Street Police Station. I was wrong. I went out despite the rules, and caused a negative impact on society. I am determined to correct my mistake. I will not go out and will not visit friends and relatives. I will stay at home, which will contribute to (well-being of) our country. On this day of Feb. 20, 2020.”
