US Navy releases video of patient transfer simulation onto hospital ship docked in New York

Location: NEW YORK, NEW YORK, UNITED STATES

SAILORS ABOARD THE NAVY HOSPITAL SHIP, THE USNS COMFORT, SIMULATING A PATIENT’S TRANSFER ONTO THE SHIP IN SUPPORT OF COVID-19 RESPONSE EFFORTS.

In support of the city’s COVID-19 response efforts the 1,000-bed ship was intended for non-coronavirus patients, including those who require surgery and critical care.

The hope was to alleviate shore-based hospitals’ overcrowding and allow them to focus on COVID-19 patients.
