Motiva Enterprises said it began on Wednesday the shutdown of all units at the nation’s largest refinery due to flooding at the Port Arthur, Texas, plant.
Locals are reporting that certain bridges are starting collapse. Many people in the Kingwood, Texas area are being turned back by police and National Guard. They are saying boats are flipping and they are stopping people from helping in rescue missions.
Thousands of people remain stranded without power across large areas of the region. Stay tuned for more updates.
A pair of 70-year-old reservoir dams that protect downtown Houston from flooding began overflowing Tuesday, adding to the rising floodwaters from Harvey that have crippled the city after five consecutive days of rain.
Engineers began releasing water from the Addicks and Barker reservoirs Monday to ease the strain on the dams. But the releases were not enough to relieve the pressure after one of the heaviest downpours in U.S. history, Army Corps of Engineers officials said. Both reservoirs are at record highs.
A chemical leak emergency is prompting orders for La Porte and Shoreacres, Texas residents to take cover and turn off their air conditioning and heating systems. This, as the Lone Star State deals with the emergency needs of the victims of Hurricane Harvey.
The shelter in place order covers areas around State Highways 146 and 225. Deer Park is not affected by the order, according to KTRK.
“Close all doors and windows and turn off heating or cooling systems,” an emergency La Porte city notice said. “Stay off the phone so you can receive updates from Emergency Officials.”
The Trump administration Monday lifted a controversial ban on the transfer of some surplus military equipment to police departments whose battlefield-style response to rioting in a St. Louis suburb three years ago prompted a halt to the program.
The new plan takes effect immediately and fully rolls back an Obama administration executive order that blocked armored vehicles, large-caliber weapons, ammunition and other heavy equipment from being re-purposed from foreign battlefields to America’s streets.
For years nuclear fusion was the stuff of sci-fi books and movies, but technology has brought it, like so many other things, closer to reality. So close, in fact, that there are plans to build the first nuclear fusion reactor by 2025 – a reactor that could yield a lot more energy than is fed into it and provide vast amounts of clean, sustainable energy.
A fire has broken out at a building in downtown Houston, with a witness reporting that he heard an “explosion,” according to local media. Footage from the scene shows the blaze raging from the windows of the premises.
The head of the Federal Emergency Management Agency said his agency is already gearing up for a years-long effort to help Texas recover from the damage wrought by Hurricane Harvey.
“FEMA is going to be there for years,” administrator Brock Long said Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union.”
He added, “This disaster is going to be a landmark event.”
Hurricane Harvey, now a tropical storm, hit southeastern Texas this weekend, and forecasters said it would continue to make its way inland over the course of the next several days.
FEMA is focused on the immediate response to the storm, but is also “pushing forward” teams focused on recovery housing and flood insurance program policy.
“We’re setting up and gearing up for the next couple years,” Long said.
Hurricane Harvey, accompanied by flash floods and severe storms, barrels along the coast of Texas, causing damage almost comparable to Hurricane Katrina of 2005. Authorities urge Texans to evacuate the coastal areas.
Jacob Rothschild has released a report detailing a huge change in assets switching significantly from US dollars to pounds and euros.
In the report from Rothschild’s investment trust RITCAP he stated: “We do not believe this is an appropriate time to add to risk” and that we are in a time when “economic growth is by no means assured”.
This video gives a detailed outline of some of the ramifications of what this could have for the US and global economy.

A bill that will allow homes to be searched without a warrant was passed with overwhelming support by the United States Congress, and signed into law by President Trump—and it happened with no media coverage and very little fanfare.
On the surface, House Joint Resolution 76 looks harmless. The title of the bill claims that its purpose is “Granting the consent and approval of Congress for the Commonwealth of Virginia, the State of Maryland, and the District of Columbia to enter into a compact relating to the establishment of the Washington Metrorail Safety Commission.”
Texans are evacuating or holing up as life-threatening conditions are expected when Hurricane Harvey, the first US Category 3 hurricane to make landfall in nearly a dozen years, could bring flooding and a storm surge that could reach heights of six to 12 feet.
Harvey, which is expected to officially hit Category 3 status by Friday, is expected to make landfall between Texas’ coast Friday night or Saturday morning.
Texas and Louisiana both face the prospects of Biblical-level floods, as Harvey will slowly roam the area and is not expected to dissipate until at least Monday.
On Thursday afternoon, Harvey’s winds strengthened to 80 mph (128 km/h). Rain is expected from 10 to 20 inches (25.4 to 50.8 cm), while some areas may see 30 inches (76 cm). Flash floods and 115 mph winds are also possible.
“Since Harvey is forecast to stall, we expect 10-20 inches of rain over a large part of southern and eastern Texas and southwestern Louisiana from Friday into early next week,” AccuWeather hurricane expert Dan Kottlowski said.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott has ordered in 700 troops from the Texas Army, Air National Guards, Texas State Guard and the Texas Military Department, to work alongside emergency responders and other volunteers and civilians in Victoria and College Station, KPRC reported Thursday. More personnel are reportedly on standby.
Heavy rain and strong gusts of wind showcased on Twitter portend the extreme weather to come.
Using the weather as a weapon to subjugate the globe sounds like the modus operandi of a James Bond villain, but a senior climate scientist has expressed concern over the US intelligence services’ apparent interest in geoengineering.
Geoengineering seeks to combat climate change by removing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere or by increasing the reflectivity of the earth – with clouds or even space dust – to reduce the sun’s warmth.
It is criticised by many environmental activists, including Naomi Klein, for suggesting that a simple techno-fix for global warming is just around the corner but geoengineering may have a more sinister side.
Alan Robock, who studied the potential impact of a nuclear winter in the 1980s, raised alarm over CIA’s part-funding of a National Academy of Sciences report on different approaches to combating climate change, and the fact that the CIA hasn’t explained its interest in geoengineering.
Weaponising the weather is nothing new. UK government documents showed that, 99 years ago, one of six trials at the experimental military station of Orford Ness in Suffolk sought to produce artificial clouds, which, it was hoped would bamboozle German flying machines during the first world war.

Like so many military experiments, these trials failed but cloud seeding became a reality in 1967/8 when the US’s Operation Popeye increased rainfall by an estimated 30% over parts of Vietnam in an attempt to reduce the movement of soldiers and resources into South Vietnam.
In recent years, the US military’s HAARP research programme has sown a blizzard of theories about how this secretive Alaskan facility has manipulated weather patterns with its investigation of the ionosphere. If HAARP really was so successful, it would probably not be closing this year.
According to the latest warning from the National Hurricane Service (NHS), Harvey looks to be the first hurricane to strike the Texas coast since 2008. According to NHS models, the storm is expected to gain hurricane-force winds by tomorrow afternoon and make landfall in Texas at 1AM on Saturday. Of course, heavy flooding and storm surge warnings have been issued for most of the Texas coast.
Per Bloomberg, Harvey is expected to make landfall as a Category 1-3 hurricane.
A United Nations Committee tasked with combating racism on a global scale has issued an ultra rare “early warning” for the United States citing “alarming racism” trends.
If fails to mention tho, that these events are being orchestrated by the alphabet gangs of each country! Of Course the UN Already Knows That…. Here On the World Stage!
China demanded Wednesday that the United States immediately withdraw new sanctions on companies and individuals trading with North Korea, saying that such punitive measures will damage Sino-U.S. ties.
The Treasury Department imposed sanctions Tuesday on 10 companies and six people from China and Russia that it said had conducted business with North Korea in ways that advanced the country’s missile and nuclear weapons program.
But China’s Foreign Ministry said its government had fully implemented U.N. Security Council resolutions on North Korea and would punish anyone caught violating the Security Council sanctions under Chinese law.
It added that it opposed sanctions outside the framework of the Security Council.
Things could get really interesting this evening in Phoenix. Just don’t forget that they are paying your fellow Americans to fight against one another! Order out of Chaos is their motto. Killuminati!
This is some of the camcorder footage i was able to get of the August 21st, 2017 Eclipse. I also caught “Something” above the sun. I hope to be back to film the next event in about 7 years.

Now that more and more Americans are receiving their electricity via solar energy, government officials worry that the electrical grid may become overloaded from a surge of energy backfeeding into the U.S. grid directly following the solar eclipse as light from the sun reemerges and hitting solar.
Right now state utilities are planning to deal with the surge which is “capable of crippling the nation,” according to an ABC News report.
A NASA plan to stop the Yellowstone supervolcano from erupting, could actually cause it to blow… triggering a nuclear winter that would wipe out humanity.
Yellowstone currently leaks about 60 to 70 percent of its heat into the atmosphere through stream water which seeps into the magma chamber through cracks, while the rest of the heat builds up as magma and dissolves into volatile gasses. The heat and pressure will reach the threshold, meaning an explosion is inevitable. When NASA scientists considered the fact that a super volcano’s eruption would plunge the earth into a volcanic winter, destroying most sources of food, starvation would then become a real possibility. Food reserves would only last about 74 days, according to the UN, after an eruption of a super volcano, like that under Yellowstone. And they have devised a risky plan that could end up blowing up in their faces. Literally.
Wilcox hypothesized that if enough heat was removed, and the temperature of the super volcano dropped, it would never erupt. But he wants to see a 35% decrease in temperature, and how to achieve that, is incredibly risky. One possibility is to simply increase the amount of water in the supervolcano. As it turns to steam. the water would release the heat into the atmosphere, making global warming alarmists tremble.
Steps forward in the search for life beyond Earth can be as simple as sending a balloon into the sky. In one of the most unique and extensive eclipse observation campaigns ever attempted, NASA is collaborating with student teams across the U.S. to do just that.
A larger initiative, NASA’s Eclipse Balloon Project, led by Angela Des Jardins of Montana State University, is sending more than 50 high-altitude balloons launched by student teams across the U.S. to livestream aerial footage of the Aug. 21 total solar eclipse from the edge of space to NASA’s website.
