Antifa counter protesters took to the streets to demonstrate against a rally led by the right-wing group ‘Patriot Prayer’ in Vancouver, Washington, Sunday.
According to reports, seven people were arrested during the protest. Protesters threw projectiles and smoke bombs at police, as they attempted to keep the protest groups separated. Counter protesters chanted at the Patriot Prayer group ‘Nazis go home.’

Ethnic Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar’s Rakhine State say security forces have set new fires to homes in a village. Police said the houses were burned by terrorists called Bengalis.
Nearly 300,000 Rohingya have fled to Bangladesh since 25 August, when a Rohingya insurgent group attacked police posts and security forces retaliated.

Russian humanitarian aid was delivered to the city of Al-Rastan in the Syrian province of Homs, Monday, thanks to the recent reopening of the Hama-Homs highway for humanitarian convoys.
Residents of Al-Rastan received 4 tons of food and 500kg (1,102lb) of medicine. The city of Al-Rastan is located in the Homs province de-escalation zone under control of the Syrian armed opposition.

At least 28 civilians were reportedly killed and 16 injured in US air strikes in Afghanistan’s Herat and Logar provinces. According to the UN’s Assistance Mission, over 1,600 civilians were killed and nearly 3,600 injured in air raids. The report also shows that the number of civilian casualties due to strikes has increased by 43 per cent this year, compared with 2016.

People looked on as wind and rain thrashed Naples, Florida, as the category 3 hurricane descended upon the city on Sunday. Approximately 6.3 million Floridians were either ordered or advised to evacuate the region. It is estimated that more than a million houses are without power. Three deaths have been reported in the Sunshine State as a result of the hurricane.

Hurricane Irma swept across the Cuban capital causing widespread flooding. Havana’s landmark seawall and surrounding streets were all submerged under water as Irma continued to pound the city for more than 12 hours. The 8km (5mile) stretch of coast was hit with waves up to 8 metres (26 feet) high. Last minute evacuations of up to 10,000 residents in central Havana were organised in the capital.

Ukrainian police say they have opened criminal proceedings into the illegal border crossing of former Georgian president and Odessa governor Mikhail Saakashvili, during which he and his supporters publicly forced their way through a cordon on the Polish border. Hundreds of members of the far-right Golden Dawn party participated in a torch lit rally at the Thermopylae Pass, some 200 kilometres (124 miles) from Athens, on Saturday,to commemorate the Battle of Thermopylae from 480 BC, in which King Leonidas of Sparta allegedly held back thousands of Persians with only 300 Spartans for three days. The crowd of party supporters was seen holding flaming torches and singing the national anthem as s refugee solidarity gathering was being held at a refugee facility close to the narrow coastal area. The battle of Thermopylae was fought between an alliance of South Greek city-states, led by King Leonidas, and the Persian Empire of Xerxes I during the second Persian invasion of Greece. After a three-day standoff all Greek warriors, including 300 Spartans, were killed.
