Recent national deployments (2025)

In response to civil unrest, the National Guard has been called into multiple cities and states in 2025.

Some examples include: 

Washington, D.C.: In August 2025, the President declared a public safety emergency in D.C. and deployed 800 National Guard troops, along with additional units from several states.

Memphis, Tennessee: In September 2025, the President announced plans to deploy the National Guard to Memphis to address crime.

Los Angeles, California: Federal troops were sent to Los Angeles in the summer of 2025

Louisiana: In September 2025, the Pentagon reportedly drafted a proposal to deploy 1,000 Louisiana National Guard troops to urban centers for policing.

Nationwide deployments: Following civil unrest in August and September 2025, Guard members were called up in 23 states plus D.C🪖
