An anonymous source from the White House told the corporate media that Syria is getting ready to launch another chemical attack. The White House says that Assad will be punished if this is done. The US-based division of the global pharmaceutical giant Merck has been hit by the ‘Petya’ ransomware attack that has crippled computer systems across the world on Tuesday.
“We confirm our company’s computer network was compromised today as part of global hack,” Merck said in a statement on Tuesday. “Other organizations have also been affected. We are investigating the matter and will provide additional information as we learn more.”

Over 800 earthquakes have now been recorded at Yellowstone supervolcano over the last two weeks, with the ongoing swarm taking place on the western edge of the National Park.
But there is virtually no risk of the volcano erupting, the United States Geological Survey (USGS) currently lists the volcano alert level as normal and the aviation color, which lists the potential risk to fights, is at green.
The current earthquake swarm began on June 12. A week later, the USGS put out a statement to say that 464 earthquakes had been recorded, with the largest being magnitude 4.4 “This is the highest number of earthquakes at Yellowstone within a single week in the past five years,” it said.

Although that certainly was the case (because you never let a crisis go to waste), the shooting was a huge wake up call to Republican legislators — and even some across the aisle. Tuesday on radio, Glenn was joined by Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) who will introduce a bill that goes the opposite way to expand gun rights. “My bill would make the District of Columbia honor your concealed carry permit from any state — and this is for anybody, not just members of Congress — who comes and visits Washington, D.C.,” Massie said.

Students and faculty were told to evacuate the University of Texas at Dallas Tuesday afternoon due to a bomb threat.
“All UTD faculty, staff, students and visitors need to immediately evacuate all buildings and parking garages on campus,” the University wrote in an alert. “Please go to UT Dallas parking lots and stay away from buildings until further notice1. We received a bomb threat and are working with UTDPD to make sure the campus is safe.”

Part of the US Army’s Redstone Arsenal post in northern Alabama was on lockdown for hours Tuesday as investigators tried to investigate reports that a shooter was in one of the buildings.
The lockdown remained in effect for the post’s Sparkman Center as of about 1 p.m. (2 p.m. ET) — three hours after the initial alert — the base in Huntsville said on Twitter.
But a wider initial lockdown, which had included the rest of the post and the neighboring Marshall Space Flight Center, had been lifted, Army spokeswoman Kim Hanson said.
