I was on The Richie Allen Show the other day after I had posted an article explaining how Israeli military intelligence – under Ehud Barak – had trained the most radical group of mujehideen, the Hezb-i-Islami under Gulbuddin Hekmatyar, in the mid-1980s. This was exactly when (1984) Hekmatyar and the most famous “Afghan Arab” Osama bin Laden became close. Why were the Israelis training the most radical anti-Western Islamist group? In 1994, most of Gulbuddin’s Israeli-trained cadre merged into Al Qaida and the Taliban. The Hebrew-speaking double agent Ali Mohamed, bin Laden’s “first trainer,” is also discussed.
