Former Fox News anchor Bill O’Reilly is using the social media outlet Twitter more to reach his fans, and Wednesday he used it to weigh in on the testimony released by former FBI Director James Comey.

“USA will become more divided after Comey testifies,” he posted before the statement was released. “Anti-Trump media will whip the story into a hysterical exposition, ride it for weeks.”
O’Reilly expanded on what he meant on his website, saying, “the USA is a divided nation which will become more divided tomorrow when James Comey testifies in front of a Senate committee. The former FBI director, recently fired by President Trump, is expected to criticize the President.”

“But no matter what Comey says,” he continued, “the anti-Trump media will whip the story up into a hysterical exposition and ride it for weeks. Donald Trump will get hammered no matter what happens at the hearing.”

After the prepared statement was released, O’Reilly declared his prediction had come true already.

“As predicted, TV coverage of the pre-Comey testimony is hysterical,” he posted. “Here’s one simple fact: A sitting President has absolute authority to ask about any investigation as long as the Prez does not interfere in fact gathering process.”
O’Reilly also addressed the Senate Intelligence Committee hearings Wednesday from his Twitter account:

Comey’s prepared statement for his testimony was released Wednesday, one day before his highly anticipated questioning before Congress. President Trump and his supporters have focused on the fact that Comey’s statement corroborates Trump’s claim that he was told he wasn’t under investigation.

His detractors, however, have pointed to conversations detailed by Comey that they say show Trump attempted to stall an investigation and is guilty of obstruction of justice.
