The average age of a mechanic in New England is 58 years old. There is a critical shortage of Tradesmen and women in the workforce. This has caused a flip flop in salaries where entry level Engineers start at $45k a year, while Mechanics are being courted in the vocational schools with signing bonuses and annual salaries in excess of $60k/yr. PLUS, who’s going to be the last people to lose their jobs?!?!? The ones that FIX the machines!
