Multiple arrests were made after a contingent of some 1,000 protesters broke windows and formed roadblocks in St.Louis on Sunday night. The protests, now on their third-consecutive night, were sparked by the acquittal of a police officer in the fatal shooting of Anthony Lamar Smith. Former St. Louis police officer Jason Stockley shot Smith to death in 2011, in what he claims was self-defence, believing that the 24-year-old African-American was reaching for a gun in his car.
