The war in Eastern Ukraine is into its fourth year and despite the conflict now rarely making world headlines, people there are still struggling to meet their most basic needs. The government in Kiev considers the area an ‘occupied territory’, and is refusing to send any support such as salaries or pensions. But that hasn’t stopped one Western citizen from reaching out to help.
