As part of my Adept Expeditions esoteric travel V-LOG series we travel to the Yucatan to explore several caves once inhabited by the ancient Maya, but not before discussing their most sacred tree – the ceiba. 🌳
According to Maya mythology, it was the symbol of the universe with its roots growing outside the ground surface, reaching into the underworld – Xibalba. The trunk represented the middle world, where us humans live and struggle, and its branches symbolize the upper world and the 13 levels in which the Maya haven was divided.
