An outbreak of severe thunderstorms will erupt across parts of the Southeast through Tuesday, not only with the more typical threats of large hail and damaging winds, but also a threat of tornadoes, some of which could be strong tornadoes.
NOAA’s Storm Prediction Center (SPC) has placed portions of northern Alabama, southern Middle Tennessee and northwestern Georgia under a “moderate risk” of severe weather through Monday night. This is the second-highest risk category that can be issued by the SPC.
