Footage filmed in Moscow on Tuesday shows the Maksim Gorky river cruise ship, also known as ‘Stalin’s yacht’. Built in 1934 by order of Joseph Stalin, the double-deck vessel was designed to be the finest to grace the waters of the newly-opened Moscow Canal. At the time, its luxury was unrivaled, boasting interiors made from 170 different types of wood, including mahogany and Karelian birch.
