Violence erupted along the border between Israel and Gaza earlier, as around 10,000 Palestinians turned out for anti-occupation protests for a sixth consecutive Friday. Israeli Defence Forces used live fire and tear gas to disperse demonstrators, some of whom they say were rioting and trying to break down the border fence.
