‘Free-range’ parenting: Utah kids can now be more independent

Utah has brought into law a new bill that amends the definition of the term “neglect”. According to the new legislation, kids can go by themselves to school and nearby facilities, as well as play outdoors unsurpervised. Parents won’t be prosecuted for leaving a child in a car or at home unattended. Lenore Skenazy, founder of the free-range kids movement, says it’s time things were changed.
