Police deployed tear gas as thousands took to the streets of Lima in protests against the Peruvian Congress on Thursday, amid revelations of the legislative body’s expenses on luxury goods.
Clashes broke out when protesters tried to overpass a police cordon in a bid to reach the Congress.
