Siesta Key Beach Update September 7, 2018
Day 7 of birds diving into the water for fish. The ocean looks GREAT today after getting a lot of rain yesterday afternoon. It’s still not the beautiful blue-green water we’re accustomed to but it’s getting better and netter each day. In this video, I’ll take you into the shallow water where you’ll see some snooks and a school of greenback minnows swimmings in the Gulf of Mexico.
While people are swimming in the Gulf, I won’t until I see birds diving for minnow for 30 consecutive days. Today is Day 7.
There haven’t been any dead fish in over a week and a half and there is no dead fish smell on the beach.

Heads Up! British Airways Website Hacked for Info On 380k People
British Airways was forced to apologize on Friday after the credit card details of hundreds of thousands of its customers were stolen over a two-week period in the worst ever attack on its website and app.
The airline discovered on Wednesday that bookings made between Aug. 21 and Sept. 5 had been infiltrated in a “very sophisticated, malicious criminal” attack, BA Chairman and Chief Executive Alex Cruz said. It immediately contacted customers when the extent of the breach became clear.

JUPITER HAS AN EXTRA MAGNETIC POLE: When NASA’s Juno spacecraft reached Jupiter in 2016, planetary scientists were eager to learn more about the giant planet’s magnetic field. Juno would fly over both of Jupiter’s poles, skimming just 4000 km above the cloudtops for measurements at point-blank range. Today in the journal Nature, a team of researchers led by Kimberly Moore of Harvard University announced new results from Juno–and they are weird. Among the findings: Jupiter has an extra magnetic pole.

FEMA & FCC Will Conduct Nationwide EAS/WEA Test On September 20th
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), in coordination with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), will conduct a nationwide test of the Emergency Alert System (EAS) and Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA) on September 20, 2018. The WEA portion of the test commences at 2:18 p.m. EDT, and the EAS portion follows at 2:20 p.m. EDT. The test will assess the operational readiness of the infrastructure for distribution of a national message and determine whether improvements are needed.
