A wildfire laid waste to almost the entire town of Paradise, California on Friday, with thousands of residents under a mandatory evacuation order.
Footage shot by Joel Adkins as they were evacuated from Paradise, California shows the charred landscape and burning houses as far as the eye can see, on both sides of the road.
The fire is believed to have reached over 70,000 acres in size-more than twice the size of San Francisco.
