Tear gas, flares & stones: Protest raging in Athens against Macedonia name-change deal

Greek security forces used tear gas to disperse large crowds demonstrating in central Athens against a deal to normalize relations with Macedonia.

Police said more than 2,000 protesters gathered outside parliament in the Greek capital, as lawmakers debated the agreement which would end the 27-year-long dispute, with Macedonia renaming itself North Macedonia and Greece lifting objections to the country joining NATO.
