On June 28, many neighborhoods in Wuhan, located in Hubei province were inundated in water due to over-flooding of the Yangtze River.

Hubei was once known as the “Thousand Lake Province.” In the past two decades, many lakes and wetlands, which helped to store excessive rain water, disappeared due to aggressive urban development. As a result, Wuhan always floods during rainy seasons in recent years.
