Taiwan’s government expressed strong disapproval of the CCP’s imposition of a draconian national security law on Hong Kong, while stating its support of the people from Hong Kong.

Taiwan’s President Tsai Ing-Wen said during a press conference on June 30 that this proves that “One country, two systems” doesn’t work and indicated that Taiwan will assist the Hong Kong people through specific actions.

Meanwhile, Taiwan’s Mainland Affairs Council reminded Taiwanese people of the risks of visiting Hong Kong after the passing of the National Security Law.

Ms. Chen, a recent immigrant to Taiwan from Hong Kong, expressed deep concern over the passing of the National Security Law in an interview with Taiwanese media, saying that any expression of free speech, may now be a violation of the law.
