On July 15, China’s Xinjiang Autonomous Region started to report new cases of the CCP virus. According to public data and an official announcement, 227 flights to and from Urumqi Airport have been cancelled, and in Changji City, all buses were to be suspended starting from July 17.

It was also rumored that the city of Urumqi may be quarantined.

Videos circulated online show that people in Xinjiang lined up for nucleic acid testing and some hurried to supermarkets to hoard food.
Chinese netizens pointed out that Xinjiang must have concealed the new outbreak. “Xinjiang authorities may well continue to hide the real situation if Zhejiang Health Commission has not reported the imported case from Xinjiang,” one netizen said.
