West Hubei’s Enshi city in Hubei province, is located near the Qing river—a tributary of the Yangtze river. After heavy rains for several days, the city was inundated in water from July 17 to July 21. A few days later, on July 25, additional rain flooded the city again, much more severely. Many cars got washed into the river during the second round of flooding.

A woman in Jianshi County of Enshi City provided a detailed account of the vehicles salvaged from the river.

The Chinese government reported that the floods had killed five and affected 160,000 people in Enshi city.
