Typhoon Hagupit made landfall at Leqing City in Eastern China’s Zhejiang Province around 3:30 a.m. on Aug. 4. Many roads were sealed-off. Amid the heavy rains and wind, trees were toppled, billboards fell down, and cars were smashed by falling objects. Many streets were submerged in water. Public transportation has been suspended in several cities.

According to China’s National Meteorological Center, winds blew up to 85 miles per hour at the center of Hagupit when it made landfall in Zhejiang Province. At noon, the tropical storm brought winds up to 67 m.p.h., and was moving north towards Shanghai.
