The northern French port city of Calais witnessed two violent incidents involving people smugglers and migrants on Saturday.
At the height of the migrant crisis, Calais experienced a huge influx of people into the so-called ‘Jungle Camp’.
It was used as a base by people hoping to travel to Britain.

The German Chancellor and her party leaders are holding crunch talks on the possibility of going back to the same coalition which governed the country before September’s poll. Dozens of ultra-Orthodox Jews from a radical sect blocked roads in Jerusalem again on Sunday bringing traffic to a standstill. Former Ecuadorian President Rafael Correa’s return to Ecuador was met with violent scenes at Guayaquil Airport on Saturday. Footage shows another former President, Abdala Bucaram with a bloody nose.
