Wu Quan, a lawyer from Hebei province was sentenced to 14 years in prison on charges of “extortion and blackmail” after exposing a corrupt official named Wang Jiang. Wang Jiang is the chairman of the Political Consultative in Zhangjiakou city.
Wu, while using his real name, exposed Wang’s crimes online. The report showed evidence that while Wang was Mayor and the Secretary of Zhuolu county, had forcibly requisitioned tens of thousands of acres of land from farmers, sold a distillery at a low price which led to the loss of state assets, and concealed the deaths of 12 people from two separate mining accidents.
The following day, Wu was arrested and asked the public to help gather evidence to incriminate Wu. Wu’s former defense attorney said the sentence was based on false charges.

Los Angeles City Councilman Jose Huizar was arrested by the FBI on June 23 for allegedly conspiring to accept $1.5 million in bribes from a Chinese real estate developer trying to curry his favor. Huizar faces 20 years in federal prison.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office revealed that the FBI raided Huizar’s Boyle Heights home in 2018, during which agents seized approximately $129,000 in cash that was stashed in his closet. The charges include bribery, honest services fraud, extortion, and money laundering.
In addition to bribes, Huizar settled a sexual harassment lawsuit against him by a former employee, but the terms were never disclosed.
Huizar made a court appearance on the afternoon of June 23, but was not asked to enter a plea. The judge ordered his release on a $100,000 bond. A preliminary hearing was set for July 14, with an arraignment scheduled for July 20. The Los Angeles City Council also announced on the same day that it has suspended Huizar and begun the process of removing him from office. Huizar has been on the council since 2005.

On June 22, a Japanese media company reported that a member of the CCP’s Standing Committee, revealed that all elected candidates are required to support the imposed Hong Kong National Security Law, or else their candidacy may be disqualified.
Members of Taiwan’s Legislative Yuan criticized the CCP for violating and changing their agreements with the people of Hong Kong.
The pan-democrats, seeing that the CCP would disqualify more candidates, announced that they would first hold a preliminary election on July 11 and 12 to demonstrate to the international community that they would not surrender to the CCP’s totalitarian power.

Zhang Zhan, a citizen journalist was arrested in Shanghai and charged for “picking quarrels and provoking trouble”.
During the outbreak, Zhang disregarded her own safety and went to report on the CCP virus outbreak directly from Wuhan. She live-streamed and recorded the real situation in the area. Now some residents believe Zhang was arrested by the CCP authorities because they fear she might inspire others to do the same by following in her footsteps and report on the ongoing outbreak in Beijing.
So far, Zhang is the fourth citizen journalist known to have been arrested for reporting on the CCP virus.

A notorious forced demolition group run by CCP authorities are responsible for the death of an 86-year-old woman named Pan Xiuzhen, in Guangxi province.
According to eyewitnesses, the Pan was beaten by the demolition workers and later died at a hospital on June 18.
Police barricaded themselves inside the hospital and forcibly removed Pan’s body in order to prevent family members from seeing her and collect evidence of the deadly abuse.
Pan’s niece told The Epoch Times that Pan was in good health before she was beaten to death.

Peasants from Shandong province have been driven off their lands in the countryside and forced to move into government designated housing. Those who resisted have become homeless.
Mr. Li, a resident from Linyi city in Shandong province told The Epoch Times that starting in October 2019, authorities demanded that all villagers move to the city, into designated housing. Villagers refused this because the compensation for giving up their home and land was very low.
Since late March, local authorities have harassed Li’s parents every day, destroying their farmland and crops, shutting off power, setting off fireworks right in front of their house, and smashing their windows. The elderly couple decided to go to Linyi to seek help from their son. Two days after they left, authorities tore down their house without their consent.
According to Chinese state media, each family moving from a rural area to a city’s designated government housing area must pay about 100,000 yuan ($14,129 USD).
The new urbanization program has stirred heated discussions online. An overseas Chinese commented that the CCP is like bandits robbing Chinese peasants.
“In addition to seizing the peasants’ land, the authorities make additional profits by selling (urban) housing to them. Imagine how much gain that is!” he said.

Tenants in Beijing are trapped inside their residential building after the local authorities welded the building doors shut, in order to contain the CCP virus outbreak after it was discovered that a tenant had contracted the CCP virus. A video is circulating online showing Epidemic Control Staff sealing the doors shut of the entire apartment building.
The lockdown building is located near the Yuquan Market—one of six markets ordered to be shut down by authorities after a new wave of outbreaks emerged in that region.

According to a report released by the Australian Strategic Policy Institute (ASPI), China’s Ministry of Public Security (Chinese police) collected DNA data of China’s male population on a massive scale. The authorities have collected 5% to 10% of China’s male population which is roughly 35 to 70 million people since late 2017.
This targeted approach gathers Y-STR data—the ‘short tandem repeat’ or unique DNA sequences that occur on the male (Y) chromosome. When these samples are linked to multi-generational family trees created by the police, they could link any DNA sample from an unknown male back to a specific family and even an individual.
Liu Xiaobin, a former public security officer in Dalian city recalls being called in a meeting in 2017 to discuss collecting DNA samples, fingerprints, etc. from Chinese citizens. He’s concerned that the Chinese Communist Party will use the data illegally and wrongfully—not only because it violates privacy rights, but also in order to take people’s organs and match them up with a patient needing an organ.
There are also concerns regarding using the data to target a specific group and use bio-weapons against specific groups of people.

The collapse of the socialist bloc headed by the Soviet Union in the early 1990s marked the failure of communism after almost a century. However, the CCP unexpectedly survived and still controls China, a nation with one-fifth of the world’s population. An unavoidable question arises: Is the CCP today still truly communist?
No one in today’s China, including Party members, believes in communism. After fifty years of socialism, the CCP has now adopted private ownership and even has a stock market. It seeks foreign investment to establish new ventures while exploiting workers and peasants as much as it can. This is completely opposite to the ideals of communism. Despite compromising with capitalism, the CCP maintains autocratic control of the people of China. Shocking scenes have been captured on video revealing the massive destruction caused by the floodwaters in Chongqing and Wuhan.
Residents living near the Yangtze river have experience the worst flooding in 80 years. Three-story homes can be seen being washed away, sections of the railways have been destroyed, and massive trees have been uprooted by the flood.
State-run media have downplayed the extent of the damages caused by the flood and local authorities have warned netizens not to post videos of the destruction online.
