HARTINGTON, Neb. — Randolph Mayor Dwayne Schutt, who is accused in a child sexual assault case, pleaded not guilty to five counts Monday during an appearance in Cedar County District Court.
Schutt, 61, pleaded not guilty on four counts of sexual assault and one count of child abuse. Each of the charges is a felony and carries a sentence of up to three years in prison and a fine.
He appeared in court with his attorney, Luke Henderson of Norfolk. The mayor left immediately after the proceedings concluded, which lasted less than five minutes.
