Water Cannon, Tear Gas: 4,000 riot police sweep away violent Islamist protest in Pakistan

4,000 police officers, many heavily armed and protected, were deployed to a large-scale Islamist protest over a law mentioning the Prophet Mohammed, which some considered blasphemy.
Water cannon and tear gas were used to disperse protesters. Dozens of injuries and one death were reported in clashes, which local TV was forbidden to cover live.
