Clashes with gunfire erupted between police and protesters during evictions in Vrygrond, an informal settlement outside Cape Town, footage from Tuesday shows.
Disgruntled residents set fire to tires and nearby vegetation, and smashed local stores. Residents vowed to continue protesting if authorities continue to evict them from the land.
