Protests escalate over PM nomination in Armenia, at least 72 arrested

Police arrested at least 72 people protesting against former Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan’s election as the country’s prime minister in Yerevan on Wednesday. Thousands have been rallying on the streets of the Armenian capital since last week, after the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) nominated Sarsgyan for the post of prime minister.
