When somebody like a Don Lemon can ask somebody like a Gladys Knight a puerile question like whether her career will suffer because she sang the national anthem at the Super Bowl, what it actually means is, “There’s a whole bunch of pampered, mollycoddled, self-absorbed, psycho-emotional infants out here wallowing in a stubborn, petulant snit, and now we’re going to throw a tantrum at YOU for not grovelling to us.”
