In 1993, Zhang Yu-Huan who was living in Zhangjia Village, Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province, was sentenced to a suspended death sentence after being accused of killing his neighbor’s two children. Zhang had been in prison for nearly 27 years during which he had been seeking redress of grievances. Finally, he received a verdict of not guilty, but he is already 53 years old and his family has been torn apart.

In Jiangxi Province, Zhang’s “Intentional Murder” case aroused community attention. Zhang was tortured by the police and forced to plead guilty. He was put in prison for nearly 27 years during which he constantly appealed. Finally, he was successful.

Zhang’s ex-wife, Song Xiao-Nu, indicated in a video that Zhang was beaten by the police handling the case, bitten by wolf dogs, and deprived of sleep. He was forced to plead guilty. “Minsheng Observatory” once reported that the scars on Zhang’s thighs from wolf dog bites are still there.

Chinese Human Rights Activist, Mr. Li, said, “They had to solve the case, but there was no evidence. So they had to torture him to extract a confession from him. Under the leadership of the communists, there are many unjust cases like this. …”

Another Chinese Human Rights Activist, Mr. Liu, indicated that very few cases of grievance can be rectified in China and that Zhang is very lucky to be able to succeed in appealing.

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announced the Clean Network program on Aug. 5. It’s aimed at stopping the CCP’s aggressive intrusions through telecommunications and over the internet.

On Apr. 29, Pompeo announced that the U.S. Department of State will begin requiring a Clean Path for all 5G network traffic entering and exiting U.S. diplomatic facilities. The 5G Clean Path is an end-to-end communication path that does not use any transmission, control, computing, or storage equipment from untrusted IT vendors, such as Huawei and ZTE, which are required to comply with the CCP’s directives.

Pompeo announced on Aug. 5, the extension of Washington’s 5G Clean Path program with the launch of five new lines of effort to protect America’s critical telecommunications and technology infrastructure, which include clean carriers, clean storage, clean apps, clean clouds, and clean cables. According to the new program, the U.S. will ensure untrusted Chinese Communist Party (CCP) carriers, are not connected with U.S. telecommunications networks and should not provide international telecommunications services to and from the United States.

“Untrusted applications” from U.S. mobile app stores will also be removed. The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is recommends to revoke and terminate three state-controlled Chinese telecommunication companies’ authorizations to provide international telecommunication services in the United States.

The clean cable policy will ensure that the CCP can’t compromise information carried by undersea cables that connect the U.S. and other countries.

The Clean Network Program, introduced by the Department of State, is the latest series of measures taken by the U.S. to resist the CCP’s aggressive intrusions.
