Billionaire investor George Soros has repeatedly denied rumors that he is helping to finance the migrant caravans making their way up from Honduras and Guatemala through Mexico with the ultimate aim of reaching the US.

Sicily’s Mount Etna is one of the world’s most active volcanoes, but scientists say eruptions aren’t the only major threat posed by this smoldering peak.

A new study shows that Etna is slowly sliding toward the sea, raising the prospect that it may suddenly collapse and trigger a massive tsunami that could devastate the region around the eastern Mediterranean Sea.

World renowned geopolitical and market cycle expert Charles Nenner predicts gold prices going up during the coming deflation. Nenner says, “It will take a little time to rally, but our target is $2,500 per ounce. People say how can you look for no inflation and also see gold going up in price? If you look at the history of finance, most bull markets in gold were in deflationary periods, not inflationary periods. Why gold in deflationary periods? If everything loses value, people will run to gold because at least they will have something.”

On the enormous global debt of $250 trillion, Nenner warns, “In the 1930’s, Roosevelt had the same problem. He had a lot of debt, but because of inflation, he paid maybe 15 cents on the dollar. The problem here is there is no inflation. There is going to be deflation. With liquidity problems, when rates go up, we are really going to have a major problem because the money that you owe doesn’t go down, and you have to pay everything back. That is very concerning.”

As Fox News reports, the lead caravan has dropped to around 4,000 people and is currently stalled because the Mexican government refuses to provide them with buses so they can be transported more quickly to the U.S. border.
That and a combination of other things has many dejected and ready to go back home.

Thousands have applied for and received asylum in Mexico under a program offered them by the government that includes housing, jobs, education, and other benefits. Thousands more, however, have refused the offer.

The setback comes days after caravan leaders asked for “safe and dignified” transport to Mexico City, a checkpoint along the way for a group that has been dwindling in size as members either apply for protected status in Mexico or drop out over fatigue exacerbated by the sweltering weather conditions they have been facing.
“The attempt to travel by bus failed,” caravan coordinator Walter Cuello told the Associated Press Wednesday night.
It has been a tumultuous journey so far for the leading caravan, which is now estimated to contain around 4,000 people – down from a peak of more than 7,000.
“Of the friends that I have been with, all want to go back,” Hasiel Isamar Hernandez, a 28-year-old mother of three from Honduras, told the Associated Press several days ago.

U.S. military officials in charge of assisting civilian border authorities have hinted that the lead caravan contains some unsavory people.
“This caravan is different from what we’ve seen in the past,” said Air Force Gen. Terrence O’Shaughnessy.

Zimbabwe has the second largest gold reserves per square kilometre in the whole world with 13 million tonnes of proven reserves.

Then VP Emmerson Mnangagwa said In 2017, “We are building reserves of gold and diamonds which if they reach a certain level I will not tell you here, it will then allow us to introduce our own currency that will be backed by those minerals. I am not at liberty to disclose to you the level that we want those minerals to reach before they can back our own currency.”

At a price of US$1,250 per troy ounce, reached on 16 August 2017, one tonne of gold has a value of approximately US$40.2 million.

The total value of all gold ever mined (190,000MT) would exceed US$7.5 trillion at that valuation and using WGC 2017 estimates.

Using the same spot price and estimating 10% of total gold reserves mined, Zimbabwe sovereign wealth reserves would be equal 1.3MT or US$52 trillion.

That’s more than 6 times more than the total global reserves of the rest of the world, and yet Zimbabwe struggles to supply bread, fuel, medicine and other basic raw materials to their population.
